Risk Disclosure
Last updated: March 24, 2025
Important Notice
On-chain trading involves significant financial risk. You may lose some or all of your assets. Do not trade with funds you cannot afford to lose. This is not financial advice.
1. Market Risk
The prices of cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets are highly volatile and can change rapidly. Market conditions can move against your positions at any time. Past performance of any asset displayed on the Platform does not guarantee future results.
2. Smart Contract Risk
Trades executed on Terminal One interact with third-party smart contracts on public blockchains. Smart contracts may contain bugs, vulnerabilities, or unexpected behaviors that result in partial or total loss of funds. Terminal One does not audit or guarantee the security of any third-party smart contract.
3. Liquidity Risk
On-chain markets may have limited liquidity, especially for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). Low liquidity can result in high price impact (slippage), failed transactions, or inability to exit a position at a desired price.
4. Blockchain Network Risk
Transactions on public blockchains are subject to network congestion, high gas fees, and potential chain reorganizations. A transaction broadcast to the network may be delayed, fail, or in rare cases be reversed. Terminal One has no control over blockchain network behavior.
5. Self-Custody Risk
Terminal One is fully non-custodial. You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet, private keys, and seed phrase. If you lose access to your wallet or your credentials are compromised, Terminal One cannot recover your funds. There is no customer support that can restore a lost private key.
6. Regulatory Risk
The regulatory environment for cryptocurrency and tokenized assets is evolving rapidly. Changes in laws or regulations in your jurisdiction may affect your ability to use the Platform or trade certain assets. You are responsible for understanding and complying with the laws applicable to you.
7. Tokenized Real-World Asset Risk
Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) — including tokenized equities, bonds, commodities, and real estate — carry additional risks beyond standard crypto assets, including:
- Counterparty risk from the issuing entity
- Redemption risk — the underlying asset may not always be redeemable on-chain
- Regulatory risk specific to the asset type and issuer jurisdiction
- Oracle risk — price feeds for RWAs depend on third-party data providers
8. DEX Aggregation and Routing Risk
Swap routes generated by Terminal One's DEX aggregation layer (powered by LI.FI) are intended to optimize for price and speed, but cannot guarantee best execution in all market conditions. Bridge transactions between chains carry additional bridge risk, including bridge smart contract risk and validator risk.
9. No Guarantee of Availability
Terminal One is provided "as is." The Platform may be unavailable due to maintenance, bugs, infrastructure issues, or external factors beyond our control. Inability to access the Platform during a period of market volatility could result in financial loss.
10. Data Accuracy
Market data, portfolio values, PnL figures, and leaderboard rankings displayed on the Platform are sourced from third-party providers and on-chain data. Terminal One does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed.
11. No Financial Advice
Nothing on Terminal One — including market data, social posts, T1 Intelligence reports, leaderboard rankings, or any other content — constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. All trading decisions are your own and Terminal One bears no responsibility for any trading outcome.
By using Terminal One you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Risk Disclosure and accept full responsibility for your trading activity and any outcomes.
